Is it possible to select item by using variable as it's name or ID in event system?

The use case I'm looking into is that I want to setup generic "Harvest Item" event interaction. For example where you click on a mushroom 3D object in a world, and mushroom inventory item gets added to your inventory while mushroom 3D object is replaced with "Collected Mushroom" 3D object. I can make 3D object replacement modular by using scene object actors, I was wondering if I can do the same with Inventory item?

If not I could write my own event, so np. Just want to make sure if there is a built in solution.

  • I don't think that's possible. You'd usually set up different prefabs with different events for this ...
